In my opinion the 49ers missed their window because Kyle Shannahan can’t seem to figure out it’s not only legal but strongly encouraged to run the ball when your team has a double digit lead in the fourth quarter.
I remember watching Davidson’s elite eight run and thinking he had it. Ankle injuries derailed him for a bit, but then he dropped 54 in the Garden and I knew he had it.
As lifelong Dub fan (going back to when GSW gave Celtics Robert Parrish & the pick for them to get McHale just to get JB Carroll 🤦🏾♂️) I don’t think any1 saw Steph coming other than maybe Mark Jackson. I mean yeah he was gonna be a great shooter but who saw Steph on the Mt Rushmore of hooping coming?
Yeah I suppose there is a difference in how good one envisioned him becoming, but you can make that case with just about everyone besides LeBron and (in 15 years) Wemby. I feel like the real “nobody saw him coming” hooper would be Jokic
Good point! Agree on Jokic. My longtime theory (across all sports): the best pros/the ones who end being 🐐’d are never “seen coming” b/c they don’t peak until they become pros (e.g. Brady, Moss, Curry, Rice) which is why so many great college players are busts in the pros. They peaked in college
As a teenager I watched Brady at Michigan and absolutely did not see that one coming. Didn't believe he was really THAT good until like Super Bowl #4, lol
I don't think the Niners window is closed. This has just been an awful season injury wise. If they cannot stay healthy moving forward, then yes, it's closed.

We all watched the 2k's Eagles do pretty much the same as the 9ers but we don't blame it all on the Patriots
