Hell, they can't even bother with reading the Constitution, much less real American history!
Or its grammar
The same is true for its failure to teach correct usage of punctuation
The fact is, most people don’t even take the time to really learn even the whitewashed history. There’s more than enough information even in the pre-digested textbook version of history to get why the shit going on right now is wrong & illegal. Those who know more details just get it even more.

So very true.
Excellent point.Reading
"A People's History of the
United States" by Howard Zinn was quite an eye opener
Word
America would rather give up on democracy than confront its past.
Not sure there is enough history to learn from.
Or it's grammar
I disagree! Most teachers of history or Constitutional law ALWAYS teach history! Not the MAGA shit, but true, honest history. Do you know any real teachers?
As a historian, retired, I see many frightening scenarios for America's future.
I believe Victor Hugo said it best:
"When dictatorship is a fact, revolution becomes a right. ..."
True & it is just as true of liberal cultures as illiberal: history has always been used as cultural propaganda & a vehicle for mythologising. Something which needs work.
*its

But otherwise, yes 💯
I noticed that too, but so many times autocorrect inserts an apostrophe on its own. It happens when I want to type “were” (instead of we’re) too. It’s so annoying.
Unfortunately true!
Say thattt!!!...again!!!
Bars.
Amen.
It will be interesting to see what history teaches about this period
Right on.
It's a shame, in an important post about how America does not teach its real history, to see the misuse of "it's."
AmeN!
Nor admit real history!
Sadly there is still NO EDIT OPTION! No one is perfect.
Absolute truth!
sad but true
I never know what people mean when they say stuff like this. When I was in school I learned plenty of bad things that happened in American history. I didn't learn absolutely everything about everything but I learned history in a pretty balanced way.
True, I was 30+ when I learned about historical trauma at an addiction conference put on by Native Americans. It opened my eyes. I was devastated to know the truth. Knowledge is power.
