So now he needs to run again w/ LoserLonnie to assist in the last month w/ a social media app & millions in a secret PAC & win reelection so he can stay out of jail, right?
Bolsonaro had his political rights revoked by the Superior Electoral Court, and he cannot run for elected office for 8 years. He will only be able to run again after 2030.
If the US really cared about democracy and the rule of law, the same would apply to the January 6th mob boss. If they'd done the same, a criminal wouldn't be president.
Well if America is any indication of what's to come, he'll avoid any repercussions for his blatant treason and be returned to office thanks to the majority of the people in his country not understanding how the economy works. Or heck, maybe they'll actually put democracy first.
Yes, attempting to overthrow the democratic rule of law and failing is classified as a crime in Brazil. If they attempt that and succeed, their crime will never be a thing
They were actually trying to take it with a slap on the wrist but then they found out the coup plan included the murder of the elected president, the VP and one of the supreme court judges with methods ranging from hospital poisoning to a FUCKING ROCKET LAUNCHER
Same headline in seven years, but it'll be Trump. Seven years because the judicial system is a pool of molasses, and Democrats will swim extra laps of indecision. This time, he got elected before they could sentence him. Next time, he'll probably pass away before they get it together.
They won’t touch Trump. As he said himself once that he could pew pew someone in the middle of the street and not lose supporters. The corruption runs deepest.
Joshua, Bolsonaro was declared ineligible until at least 2030 right after the attempted coup on January 8th. Only in the US a traitor a criminal is eligible to become president.
I lived in Brazil for 2 years and there was a candidate in the Federal Senate that would murder his opponents to win each election year. They would either "accidentally" disappear, withdraw, or wound up dead. And you all think Pelosi or McConnell have been around too long.
I am amazed by this comment section. There are no inhabitants of the parallel universe madly claiming their absurd versions of reality. I love bluesky.
I asked one of my far-right, Brazilian jiu-jitsu associates about this. What do you think he said?
"It's all BS. A setup."
I kind of figured that's what he would say. 🫣
Geez, they did it in two years. It's been four years and we can't get trump indicted over his coup? So much for being the most powerful country in the world.
It's Bolsonoro's own fucking fault for not being born in the US; and was the ex-president of the US!
In the US, it's perfectly okay to do what Bolsonaro did!
Do our Supreme Court justices realize they’ve enabled this type of behavior in the USA? A President with no culpability while in office. Mind boggling!
Bolsanaro is part of Trump's club of autocrats. They all seem to have the same idea with their democracies and stay on power. I wonder if they are trading notes?
I am going to be honest with you, in my own humble opinion without being sentimental of course, without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter from a distinctive perspective, I would like to say I have nothing to say😁

I mean, that's how it works now, right?

Trump is going to protect him.
I was asking why the asshole who responded to you said "go back to X"
If he had only done his job!!
I suspect he'll be able to appeal extradition and keep out of trouble until a fellow authoritarian takes office.
(Especially since he didn't have the grace to die from illness.)

Come on! What idiots would fall for that play...!?
In the US, it's perfectly okay to do what Bolsonaro did!
Will there be a trial in Brazil?
