Regulators are looking into reports of property damage in the island nation of Turks and Caicos caused by debris falling after a SpaceX Starship vehicle exploded over the ocean during a test mission, according to the FAA.

Musk is experiencing more than one “ rapid unscheduled unraveling “ event in his life. Tesla is tanking, Twitter is worth a quarter of what he paid for it. World leader are moving to limit his toxic influence and opinions
Given that #Space-X is now regularly dumping kilotonnes of toxic #Space-Debris over the Gulf-of-Mexico; #POTUS should rename it the 'Gulf-of-Elon's-Waste'
It’s Elon’s trash and waste. He has the money, let him go clean up his international litter. Jeez doesn’t this guy have his OWN country (South Africa) he can go back to and pester or attempt to buy,,, go find another country to grift!
Those were quaint. There won't be any other than funding bogus prosecutions against businesses that dipshit doesn't like for whatever petty perceived insult.
None of those were Starship. Some money has been put aside for Starship (specifically HLS), but SpaceX doesn't get it until they meet the milestones attached.
Debris and damage from falling pieces from any spaceship falling back on earth or in orbit should be treated as responsible of the agency that is flying the spaceship.. just like planes!
This case musk should be sued investigated and held responsible for damage caused today and removal of debris.
I know. Those accidents are recurrent events for the CNSA, who give no f***s at all. However, one would think that Musk is learning his trade from the Chinese playbook rather than from NASA or from the Europeans. That is outright disgraceful.
Firstly, musk doesn’t manage the Starship program. Secondly, this is done with FAA and NASA guidance and regulation. This flight was conducted under FAA regulations and requirements for safety
It's concerning to see how even space missions can have unintended consequences on Earth. Let's hope the regulators can address the damage swiftly and ensure safer practices in the future. Space exploration should inspire, not destabilize communities.
That amazing video someone posted from a passenger jet should be a bit concerning, too. This fallout covered a huge area and at some point these things could hit a plane, too.
No one was killed, and even if they were, it would be surely their fault for being on the wrong place.
Beautiful spectacle though, as elon moron describes it. All that taxpayer's money blowing up everywhere everytime is lovely. And the objectives are 4 years late. Keep minimizing unsafe shit.
I live next to a lithium ion tesla/PGE battery facility that is on fire and spewing toxic chemicals and heavy metals into out air, sensitive marine environment and the produce fields that feed America.Who holds him accountable for damages he causes he can play in space funded by our tax dollars?
Hey Elon, instead of using hair plugs, jaw reshaping and Ozempic to make yourself try to look manly … strap yourself in solo on the next launch to prove your manliness. You would never do that because you’re such a wimp. Bezos on the other hand did it.
I think Mr. Musk has gone too far with his Rockets. He's starting to lose it. Time to slow down on this testing and the worst thing about it is using taxpayers money. not his own
What a fucking waste of taxpayer money. I want an investigation of Musk's finances and why taxpayers are flipping the bill for the richest billionaire in the world just for his hobby. FUCK MUSK!
As the explosion happened at a very high altitude the probability that debris fell on that island is extremely low.
Airliners had to be put on holding patterns, some had to divert, and others had to declare fuel emergencies to secure a prompt landing spot, crossing at their own risk.

The tech billionaire's aerospace company has benefited from nearly $19.8 billion in federal contracts since 2008.
Fiscal year 2024 was the largest on record for SpaceX, aided by at least $3.8 billion in U.S. government contracts.
SAVE JIM ACOSTA

And Musk declared reports of property damage in the island nation of Turks and Caicos was 'fake news''

I’ll accept those odds.
Regulators: "compensate the people who were impacted"
Elon Musk: "no"
Regulators: "damn, welp, we tried"

Elons ego is what matters.
