My Grandfather was the caretaker of the SS US back in the 70s and he loved her. I think this is him from beyond the grave trying to put up as many roadblocks as possible to keep her afloat.

It's actually going to be used to help rebuild reefs. They treat it before sinking it. Busses and other ships have been sunk for this purpose.
