The US Department of Health and Human Services has removed the 2024 surgeon general’s advisory on gun violence from its website. A link to the Office of the Surgeon General’s publications on firearm violence displays a “Page Not Found” message.

Another example of the massive influence the NRA holds over America.
Comrade donald bangs on about fentanyl, but folk have a choice,
take it or not.
The 120,000 people shot each year rarely have a choice in the matter.
Is Canada to blame for this as well?
Does the Office of the Attorney General have any reports about how violent crime does not correlate with gun prevalence? It correlates with poverty, lack of opportunity and a prison system which is an academy for psychopathic violence.
This is my second one (he’s 4 atm) & a cuddle monster. He’s reserved with strangers & a bit of a scaredy cat as he was a lockdown dog so missed being socialised as much as I’d have liked.
My 1st was more independent and aloof with everyone.
Agree not for everyone but I ❤️the breed. Fab dogs 🐕
Tell that to all the medical professionals that treat victims; explain your logic to all the kids that are murdered in their classroom, church, on the sidewalk. Bless your heart.
What in the world is this trying to prove? It seems to be making the point that mentally ill people are rarely violent. The "Good Guy With a Gun" canard isn't here at all.
I’m not surprised you didn’t notice it, and that’s sort of the point. It’s the tiny deep red dot marked “Justified (civilian)”, the least likely outcome, after all those very bad outcomes indicated by the red circlies marked “Guns”, which are roughly 96 times as likely to occur.
Those would be legal self-defense shootings as judged by the FBI. The people you consider expendable who are inconveniently still alive, sorry.
The U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics estimates Americans succesfully use guns in self-defense 115,000 times/year and that's the lowest estimate out there.
the 115,000 figure is an old, high-end estimate, likely based on selective interpretations of NCVS data. It’s not an official or current BJS estimate. The Gun Violence Archive (GVA), which tracks verifiable defensive gun uses from media and police reports, finds lower numbers (≈2,000-3,000 per year)
"verifiable" there's your trouble. GVA tracks incidents reported in media, but DGAs are notoriously reticent to report incidents (for fear of being prosecuted themselves, having the gun confiscated, etc.).
NIH went through all this at length on 2022, and did not conclude the BJS estimate was
Wow gun violence killed his father and uncle and yet RFK jr approved removing an advisory about gun violence from the HHS website. You would expect him to quit over that but RFK jr has no moral compass other than wanting power at any cost.
I found the print article on cnn’s website where Scott stared what your original post says was removed. Your original post about the content being removed is patently false.
Your original post says it has been removed when it has not – that is the part that is inaccurate/false. The content calling out the insurrectionists is accurate with regard to what he said and not the concern I have with your original post.

To hell with dead children, as long as you can squeeze a few more pennies out of the ones that avoid getting shot in schools?

Sadly we in the US do not live in a civil society ☹️

Bullets kill people.
Lots and lots and lots of lots of people.
But I'm sure they're all bad, just ask the NRA.
