What’s the deal with a ‘voluntary recall’ on the same day as the best before date? Sounds sort of like “we didn’t want to recall, so we just waited till it was almost expired”

The recall was announced on Sunday. The county purchased the milk on Nov. 21 and then had to test it. When it was positive, they asked Raw Farms to recall. https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OPA/Pages/NR24-039.aspx

It’s interesting that H5N1 was found in bottled product but not in their main processing tanks. Something to watch when over 400 dairy herds in California have already tested +ve.
