not that i expected anyone to listen to me, but i tried making the point for months that a party that would get behind a genocide was not up to the task to defend you

Dems are 'up to the task' of countering progressive elements that may appear. It's not that they're weak. It's that things like women's rights (forget trans, etc.) don't have the hold for them as racism has for Repubs. More political value when lost.
I think people living in the EU expecting the collective European response to Trumpism to be anything other than surrender or enthusiastic support need to appreciate this logic applies here too. They've already failed the clearest test of moral fibre, and political vision.
US support for Israel is hard coded into foreign policy. Dems + Pubs have known being Pro-Israel is like printing votes with narrow loss. Being pushed out by lobbyists / odd legal actions / claims of antisemitism and blatant campaign manipulation are feared.
I haven't been following you, so I'm ignorant here, but what was your proposed solution? I hated the way the Biden admin handled Israel, and the campaign's failure to break from that; we're on the same side. But I felt we had no choice but to support them in hopes of avoiding the current situation.
I sadly don’t think there were any magic solutions, more just general commentary on how trusting or expecting the Dems to do anything effective is a fools errand (and there remain many dem defenders around). Not lookin good out there!

That's certainly foreign interference.
