So cool! I've never heard of this. In the current state of things, it's actually an interesting question of whether the rules about what should have been considered but weren't eligible should be reevaluated.

Usually it means they were published outside the US--which doesn't diminish their value to readers, of course. #kidlitchat

I love these lists--and we have some of the Caldenotts already! And I've loved Travis Yonker's annual list of unconventional picture books--so many gems, and now Betsy Bird has taken it over #kidlitchat
