Honestly the Garth Hudson entrance here is probably the single greatest moment in any rock concert film. Especially because it’s reserved for Garth Hudson, supremely unassuming genius.

Could also deliver on sax when called upon. All Band members besides Robbie had ability on multiple instruments.

One of my favorite ever concerts was seeing Wilco at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (with Dylan and My Morning Jacket) and Garth Hudson joined them for 4 songs. They did Long Black Veil, California Stars, The Genetic Method, and of course Chest Fever. Fucking incredible.

Ryan Bingham opened and was very good. Don't know whether you caught him. I had to get up at 5 a.m. the next morning so I remember slipping out during the Dylan set. What a satisfying show!

Watched TLW with my 19 year old and when Hudson comes blaring in with with this she laughed out loud (the sax?) but by the end of the solo it was nothing but respect.

I was a drum tech on the Call tour that they employed him and he literally did his own thing, barely talked and didn't seem like he even knew anyone else. But show time, he mopped the floor w everyone and then disappeared into the night only to be seen at the bus in the am
