Was watching THE X-FILES last night when I heard Mulder refer to a major East Coast interstate highway as:
"The I-95"
Something like "I'm getting on the I-95"
What a giveaway that your writers are from California π
(A real East Coaster would just say "95" or maybe "I-95", no "the")

In Florida, growing up, we said I-95, and were eager to remind folks that it also had a northbound lane.
(I sometimes called it I-95 too, to be fair; but never "the")
In LA rentals, a lot of apartments don't come with fridges. In NYC rentals that would be on the super to get a new fridge for the apartment not the tenant
Nor-Cal folks would say I'm "jumping on 80 to get there". So-Cal's would say "I'm taking THE 405".
