Mine definitely were. They took it out of me in ways my son never did. It's sad that they're gone now, but also a relief. I spent 11 years taking care of them to some degree.

We've been raising our parents since childhood, when we were making Hamburger Helper before our parents got home from work. Then we had kids and tried to give them all the support our parents didn't give us. Now we get fascism, while Boomers quip, "well, it worked out for us--you'll be okay" #XedOut
