The only conclusion that I can come to, with Schumer & so many others that turned at the last minute is that there are death threats, there's hostage situations, there's some threat to life that compels them to change course. So if it's not THAT, then GTFO. You're only after your own self interest.

Schumer did the right thing. A shutdown would have given the President carte blanche. Instead of disarming Trump, we would have handed him more guns and fresh ammunition to use against us.
