There's one thing I want to add here. I was talking to a student yesterday about one of her ideas, and offered a variant on it, which she liked. But, she said, that's *your* idea! But how are we supposed to develop ideas if not incorporating insights and variants from others? The squiggly line...1/2

To me the most important lesson from the Beatles case is how important it is to be surrounded with good people. George started out as a decent guitar player and ended up writing some of the most amazing songs. Paul and John pushed each other to new heights.
