Ugh, it is isn’t it? I think this screen is customisable, so you can potentially improve it a bit for your usecase.

The small icons on the right are SO easy to miss and a bad control to use… but it’s helpful to switch to the Apple Home Screen quickly tho!

Another big UX mistake is allowing the user to choose where things go. The advantage of not allowing such customisation is that whatever the device, the functionality is in the same place, for example, turning on the torch.
