I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source. Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

I think one thing that’s impossible to overlook or ever forget again regardless of whatever needs to happen politically and socially going forward for a better world is how many people openly delight in hate and potentially dominating others. It’s not even hidden but celebrated and bragged about.

I rode my bike 210mi this weekend. Feeling all kinds of pains right now, but I'm pretty proud of myself. It's fascinating to feel how your body responds to such a sustained exercise over the course of a couple of days.
