I'm not Brazilian, but I watched "I'm Still Here" by the global winner Fernanda Torres, and I loved it. To be honest, it's a much better movie than "The Substance" which is cool—Demi Moore was good, but Fernanda was phenomenal. I think "I'm Still Here" should win all the awards it's nominated for.

The body horror is on the goofier side, so that's a great comparison! Outside a few really upsetting visuals, it's honestly pretty tame in terms of actual gore/body melting. I wanted MORE lol

The discomfort/gross factor mostly comes through performance, human behavior, and eating rotisserie chicken

I keep coming back to the chicken, yeah, but as someone who was hit incredibly hard by the film's commentary on body image, the binge eating parts made me more upset (as the movie intended!) than the like.. "bodies are melting" stuff.
