Many years ago someone at a student loan summit said “either education is a public good or it isn’t, either way, we need to start acting accordingly.” I think about that all the time.

Seems to me what we’re seeing across the federal government are the dividends being paid from years of adopting market language to talk about public goods. Run government like a business? Businesses exist to make profit. Government exists to serve the people. We’re about to see the difference now.
