Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008. Also bigger than the 2024 DNC. And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

we believe we are special and we simply are not

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado. 11,000 people showed up. Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

I just heard that later today Donald Trump is going to issue an order to shut down the Department of Education. That’s the wrong direction for students and the country. Please join me in the fight to protect public education.

“Even when you don’t think you’re making a difference, you are” - much needed words from a mentor this morning

Is it at all surprising that a convicted felon would ignore a judge's order?

Oregon showing up strongly here.

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific. If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

On repeat till someone fucking gets it: THE EIGHTH CIRCUIT’S DECISIONS DO NOT IMPACT THE IBR STATUTE. THE EIGHT CIRCUIT’S DECISIONS DO NOT IMPACT PSLF.

This is the definition of fascism.

Teacher, student loan advocate, immigration attorney. They’re gonna put my whole family in jail huh?

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

you gotta burn your Alexa's folks

Being the person who tells you what the rules are in a time of no rules is truly unsettling.

Hope Shumer’s book tour goes great.

In my experience, communism was not an “acceptable” political ideology on campus. I think things would be better if it were.

I get really annoyed when I see all of these progressive media people be like whatever happened to saying abolish ICE and like I don't know buddy I said it every single day for years and years and years and years, where the fuck where you? Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

One columnist, a professional pundit, is living in a paranoid delusion. The other, a sociologist, is living in America.

The onion has done more to protect democracy than any democrat in leadership over the past 10 years.

Abolish ICE

Gunshots were fired at a Tesla dealership in Oregon on Thursday for the second time in a week in ongoing vandalism and protests around the country since CEO Elon Musk became a key figure in the Trump administration.

Cutting the hours of “Rosé all day” to 10am to 7pm, because of the tariffs on French alcohol.

This is now a judge Alsup stan account. Sweet, and the anti-rif order are the stuff of legend.

Rep. Bonamici followed me back here so I better clean up my act.

A federal judge just ordered the Departments of Defense, Treasury, Energy, Interior, Agriculture and Veterans Affairs to offer all fired probationary employees their jobs back immediately. www.npr.org/2025/03/13/n...

The cuts to the Department of Education are cruel and illegal. This department provides vital services and funding to schools of all levels in all 50 states that are now in jeopardy.

This is 100% what I need right now

If Linda McMahon and the Department of Education believe in "efficiency and accountability" (after laying off half of the department), then I'm sure they'll gladly publish a list of every position that has been eliminated and why that position is no longer needed.

I actually think Chris is exactly right that the median voter thinks everyone is corrupt already. That is the main thing Republicans have been telling people for decades, and they've completely captured local media.

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much

(probably why the administration moved him to Louisiana - to force the case through the Fifth Circuit ....)

Many years ago someone at a student loan summit said “either education is a public good or it isn’t, either way, we need to start acting accordingly.” I think about that all the time.

Gutting the Department of Education will impact everything from internet access to school buses. Let’s not make it harder to learn.

A recent study found that cervical cancer deaths in young women have plummeted since the introduction of the human papillomavirus vaccine.

US added to the global human rights watchlist due to declining civil liberties.

This Friday, March 14, marks 30 days since Trump’s unlawful mass firing of federal workers began—and the last day for many to appeal to MSPB. Democracy Forward is fighting back to protect our workforce. Resources + appeal guide: civilservicestrong.org. #CivilServiceStrong

Ontario FTW this is how it’s done.

Look, folks, this is it. The entire ballgame. Either we're a Republic of laws & the Constitution, or we have a dictator. This is fascism, & the impeachment vote should be happening today. Every single university president in the country should be out, in front of microphones, condemning this.

Every year, on the Monday after DST comes into effect in the spring, hospitals report a 24% spike in heart attack visits around the US. www.businessinsider.com/daylight-sav...

If I owned Tesla stock I would sell it. Never seen an ongoing and precipitous crash in one stock.

Someone recently asked me for advice on what their son, who was kicked out of his DU grad program for pro-Palestine protest, could do about his student debt. No degree, tons of debt, exiled from their school for a moral stance.

Be kind to a someone today. Everyone is walking around scared. Some are right on the edge and others push it to their unconscious but no one is immune. This plane has all the makings of hell but it can be the opposite when we connect with each other

Even Bezos thinks we need the CFPB: "the CFPB works to prevent another economic crash. Removing its guardrails only invites further calamity." #defendCFPB wapo.st/3FeBuZf (gift link thx to UCI libraries)

Some of us have been saying this since 2020 and even before: Dems should make corruption *the* central issue in US politics and public life and go on the offensive against GOP/MAGA/Trump transparent and hypocritical corruption and grifting. Most voters hate corruption.
