This is a true statement. 53 year old white lady here. We learned about the “history” of our country in school, and a lot (most) of white people don’t take the time to learn anything past that. We have to take it upon ourselves to dig in and learn the WHOLE history of our country.

This is particularly important after an eleven year old child took her life after being bullied because of her race.
Kids are born with a clean slate, what they learn is from their environment. So as parents, that is as much our responsibility as making sure they are healthy and safe.
