I really don’t understand the switching and waste. I worked on some of those SA projects and the manufacturing hub there would have supported a lot more smaller businesses to support other industries such as train/tram parts, car parts etc. real ‘jobs n growth.’

We are never likely to get subs, if we did, the weapons onboard would be controlled by the US Navy, the Australian Navy would never have been allowed control of US nukes. Period. On the other hand, I believe the French may have seriously considered arming us, which is the reason US/UK spawned AUKUS!

With the way Europe defence industry is responding to the 🍊🤡 threats, the US industry may no longer be viable. Trumps posturing could completely unravel their global supply chain bringing them to a standstill. A lot of companies will pivot to Europe for work.
