If they managed to build their party back with the likes of Matt Kean, they would be in with a chance. Socially progressive, finally conservative candidates that believe in climate science or science in general - basically Teals. That's what people want.
The party is toxic and requires one toe the party line. That's why Climate 200 with public funding allowing the Teals to run independently is so appealing and successful. I think this is existential, without good young blood they'll move further to the conservative right.
