German edition sorely needed, although the exclusion of the frankly *bananas* history of Altona from the Schleswig wars chapter may cause mutterings.

I'm unfamiliar with it I'm afraid! Pretty much every chapter could plausibly have been a book in its own right. As to the lack of a German edition, it's just down to which overseas publishers buy the rights I'm afraid
