Generative AI will have a material impact on white collar work through mediums such as Microsoft Teams and a root & branch transformative impact on low cost process work which was offshored decades ago. Beyond that there’s a few specialist uses too. But this isn’t “the wheel” or “fire”.
I find it notable that the people outside the tech sector who claim “this is bigger than fire” aren’t anywhere close to corporate decision making, the accounts etc. For those of us who are, we see it’s like the shift from secretarial typing!& paper mailing to self word processing & email.
