I can’t wait till we deregulate the FDA and all the other departments trying to keep Americans safe.
The deregulating agencies we currently have are understaffed and barely able to do 3/4 of the workload .
I buy the precut celery, carrots and sometimes mirepoix. I think in these times it’s important for ppl with disabilities or a hectic schedule to make healthy eating as easy as possible for themselves.
You may well know more about farming than I do. I don’t if farmers usually use “sterile “ manure or untreated manure. E. Coli occurs naturally in manure. Just a city 🏙️ kid.
Deer & rabbits poop in the fields, irrigation water gets contaminated, done. It happens all the time. Wash veg in chlorinated water (1/2 tsp household bleach to one gallon water). Especially romaine, spinach and cilantro. Cilantro is unbelievably filthy stuff.
Very concerned about this. Do we just not buy produce? soak in a light bleach solution? what about similarly unregulated meat or fish? are we gonna get bird flu bc dairies aren't being inspected?
I have zero trust in a trump admin "solution" to cutting all regs. We're gonna need each other
Organic carrots are kind of silly to begin with because carrots are one of the few vegetables that require little to no pesticides to grow, and few disinfectants (bleach or ozone) to process.
But I get it, some people are willing to pay more to get less...

trump is killing any reg that costs an owner money -- but don't they have a responsibility to not ship deadly products?
Will there be a law against lawsuits against Big Ag?
Sad people are too busy to scrub and peel a carrot 🥕
While that is a fine fertilizer E.Coli is still a thing that shouldn't be ignored.
This shows there is a problem with either the manure they are using as fertiliser or something wrong at the packaging plant.

There will be a million other protections we need to patch together for each other.
It's so much easier to break things than to create them.
