The State Department has told Congress that it intends to approve $8 billion in purchases of U.S.-made arms by Israel, the department’s office in charge of arms transfers said on Friday.

According to the Council of Foreign Relations, the US has given Israel around 300 billion in aid, most if which is military. So this “purchase” is really a gift which the taxpayer will pay back later
WHY??? Netanyahu has done nothing but give the Dems the finger and help Trump. He does this because he suffers no negative consequences. There is something going on we don’t know about.
Nope. It's not secret mate. If the US stopped funding Israel they would be gone in 4 months. If the US loses its foothold in the Middle East by losing Israel, well you join the dots

Ok but like… that’s not what’s happening? Unless I’m mistaken this is Israel buying US weapons and WH agreeing for the sale. Which is still bad don’t get me wrong, and it is supporting and enabling Israel in its genocidal acts. But tying it to hospitals or SS is just wrong. It’s a factually bad take
I’m glad that in the dying days of democracy, our duly elected officials are rushing to approve as much funding for Israeli weapons as possible. Really is a preview of what’s to come.
It’s time to cut Israel off. They have gone WAAAYYY too far with their retribution and are now grabbing land in Syria when the Syrians are trying to recover from Assad. Netanyahu is a war criminal as bad as Putin.
And, they wonder why Democrats lost the election. Netanyahu played Biden. Yet, he gives billions freely. Biden looked so weak. Of course, even the public saw it. If you can’t even threaten/convince your closest ally to stop bombing or refrain from causing civilian casualties, you failed miserably.
I say screw Isreal. Rather do what they could to avoid war, Bibi ran head long into one. I heard him say right after the attack that he would wipe Palestine off the map. He later changed it to Hamas. They must have pulled the video of the first one down as I haven't found it since that day.
So a THAAD system..one of 7 in the world..wasn't enough to give Israel. Even though their Done system works so well? No?? Just going to continue to fund genocide and then punish the survivors and their families in a decade or more when the insurgents created by US funded butchery get revenge.
The let's-not-kill-innocent-people lobby is going to need to up its game, clearly the weapons manufactures won this round.
What a disgusting legacy for the Biden administration to leave as one of their final acts.
No, Please No. That translates to $8Mil cash infusion into Bibi's political campaign to stay in office. As long as he still has "an enemy to destroy", he stays in office.
If he was/is so concerned with his people's safety, Oct 7th would have never occurred or succeeded.
The weapons*
Since it’s a future weapon sale approval, not transfer of goods or money. But absolutely it should not go to Israel under any circumstances. Their government and military has proven to be horrific war criminals and shouldn’t be enabled. Especially not when one could aid Ukraine instead
This comment section shows how Israel completely alienated themselves. They could have done better and won the popular opinion. Instead they decided to do stupid stuff. The stupid stuff they did made all Jews in America and around the world feel very unsafe. It is time for change.
That… those are both reasonable things to want. The US not to support Israel in its genocidal adventure and UH. But like… unless I am misreading something this just isn’t either of these. From what I understand this one is Israel buying US weapons and the WH “just” approving it. (Still bad though).
Nope, we are manufacturing weapons, instead of peaceful pursuits. Most US weapons manufacturers depend on military contracts. We're sick of it. War is a the game privileged use to enslave the masses as fodder. Let those who choose war be the first ones on the front line.
Those are all points based on entirely positive and agreeable positions and beliefs, but they’re just not exactly… true? War’s just one tool of many, fodder is hardly a word to use in the context of the US military, and it’s hardly the reason for a lack of “peaceful pursuits” (which also isn’t true)
Not to mention the lobbiests on K Street, our lawmakers with their hands out and a soon to be a Billionaire cabinet for the Rapist in Cheif....oh and don't forget "DOGE" coming to a needed social progam near you along with ridiculous inflation caused by tarrifs....
Maybe the Republicans will block State Department Israel arms purchase of $8 billion because this is not a sale nor loan, but a debt on US balance sheet. The trillion dollar plus debt will impact Trumps mega agenda
