Amazon, JPMorgan and other companies have been telling their employees that remote work is over. President Trump signed an executive order on Monday also requiring all federal workers to return to in-person work five days a week.

how will this effect real estate prices in places where remote workers flocked when they no longer had to commute? Will those market be flooded with "must sell" prices? Will major cities see high prices skyrocket as employees claw their way into the market? will people resort to cannibalism?
Companies were happy to rake in tens of billions of dollars in profits with all-remote workforces. This is just a shame so they can nanomanage their employees
Luigi from Super Mario Bros. pumps a plunger in a sink. Some jobs can be done outside the office. Ceos should all be fired, they are the most non essential employees.
Why? People are actually more productive at home and the commute produces zero emissions. Oh yeah, you assholes want us all to be miserable and die due to global warming.
Is it just me or have companies been saying remote work is over for the past two years. If remote work was over two years ago (for Amazon and JP Morgan) why is it still in the news
Please correct your statement : Attorneys general from 18 states sued President Trump on Tuesday to block an executive order that refuses to recognize the U.S.-born children of unauthorized immigrants as citizens. The EO includes authorized immigrants on work visas. Don’t whitewash the details
Thank you! “The order would extend even to the children of some mothers in the country legally but temporarily, such as foreign students or tourists.” It includes foreign workers who have been here for years stuck in the broken immigration and green card system
Apparently CEOs didn't get the message. We the People don't take orders from dictators; CEO's have been declared by the market as: Vomit flavored ice cream
"Clear the market"
Since we are repeatedly told that it is ‘impossible’ to fire civil service workers, they should just continue to work from home, or show up, have a coffee, and go back home to work.
I have a family member who works for one of those companies and their whole team is almost certainly going to bolt. The ironic thing is, some of them already come in five days a week out of choice, but they want the flexibility.
Great but let’s talk about the costs of in person presence … electricity, heat, printers, garage chairs etc…
Funny also to see Amazon the cloud leader pushing this idea . Irony or boot leaking?
There is ample evidence that remote work is productive and even more efficient than in-office work. Remote work also improves employee wellness and company loyalty. This isn’t about the work. It’s about appeasing partner companies and industries. Less travel means less money spent on fuel, etc.

Fall in line like NTY and Anti-defamation League Jonathan Greenblatt
The EO is not just for kids of illegal immigrants but kids of valid visa holders too. Talk about keeping America white

"Clear the market"
• Limits work force options
• Increases costs
• Reduces productivity
• Diminishes morale

WFH isn't a *perk*. Happened for a reason. And all who keep getting sick in the office know that reason remains. #CovidIsntOver #CovidIsAirborne https://bsky.app/profile/smarch2020bot.covid.aktion.network/post/3lganidd5bb2h
