The use of IRS data will - of course - soon go beyond looking at the private information of government employees for the purposes of doxxing, intimidation and persecution.
As a tax preparer I never entered in who the charity donations of taxpayers were to. I just entered the amount and told them to keep their receipts with their tax records in case they ever had to prove them.
Pandora's Box is now open......you will regret this moment in years to come USA.... Total unfettered control of all information on all citizens? Stop the argument that there are altruistic motives for all of this.
Hopefully SCOTUS can see the difference between an independent agency set up as a check on business (CFPB) and an independent agency set up as a check on government itself (OSC). They don’t even need to consider hypothetical worst case scenarios - Trump is on a destructive rampage.
SCOTUS: So hypothetically, with a yes man at OSC, a President could fire hundreds of federal aviation safety workers for absolutely no reason? Or strand every last USAID employee in the field, cutting them off from vital safety info?
MR TRUMP LAWYER: Did you read any news over the weekend?
What Congress creates, Congress controls. When Congress creates an "agency" through legislation, it operates under its legislative mandate. It is not subject to executive branch control.
In the end it will be the feckless Democrats that will be to blame because they are doing nothing to stop this coup. We need the US military to intervene and arrest all those in the Trump regime who are blatantly breaking laws and compromising our most sensitive computer systems.
The @nytimes.com has an editorial about the abuses of the #Trump regime but focuses on #NYC Mayor Adams and not on the millions of Americans harmed to date.
My local Uni just closed two education programs that the felon defunded.
I see you're still hedging your bets ~ and it's embarrassing.
Or, you know, “America is f-cking burning to the ground while people just keep going about their business as if nothing’s wrong.” That could be a story.
It would take far longer than five minutes for an informed person with a reasonable understanding of current events and history to comprehend the daily news cycle at the moment, but that is merely my own opinion, based upon struggling to keep up with the constant changes made by this administration.
I am hearing federal taxes for taxpayers this year and I have questions as to if I think the information that goes into the 2024 tax returns is safe from the president’s meddling. I tell them I hope not. I have already had three walk out without finishing their taxes for 2024.

Call it mad destruction of our democracy
Last I saw the #NYTimes only reported "thousands." Seems like you're downplaying it. Screenshot provided.
