Paramount, the parent company of BET, MTV and the Paramount film studio, said on Wednesday it was rethinking its approach to DEI policies amid a broader backlash driven by the Trump administration.

Cancelled today and they offered to cut my rate by 50% for next year! So basically they were about to charge me 2x as much for not babysitting my subscriptions looking for the best deal. Wish I could cancel twice.
Dammit, am I going to have to cancel my Paramount+ account now, too???? And they are the ones that air Star Trek, talk about a conflict in messaging...
Grown as I am, I never thought I would see the day that I had to change my eating, shopping, and viewing habits so abruptly. Paramount+ has become the latest casualty of spineless decision making.
Never mind that all data shows diverse workplaces where people feel included out perform those companies without diversity. Another proof point that if real leaders were in charge DEI programming would continue.
It’s apparent they are scared shitless by Trump and what he might do to them so everybody’s giving up the diversity initiatives that were so important just a few years ago, but the fact that Trump doesn’t like him means companies don’t like him cause they don’t wanna lose favor
I just attended a webinar today that talked about Trumps DEI executive orders and how they affect Title VII and the general consensus is that even the administration has no idea what DEI policies actually are. And no clue what his executive orders are actually supposed to do.
Folks, we had a distribution agreement in negotiations with Paramount+ / Pluto. Multimillion deal for a new series. Today, upon hearing this, we have instructed our attorneys and agents to walk away from the table. Exploring options with other networks & platforms. BUSTED BEAR DONT PLAY #tvseries
Well I did a preorder for star Trek Lower Decks season 5 a couple weeks ago which will be here in March . The reason I'm doing this so I can own it just in case they take it off their service which they did with star trek Prodigy thank goodness I own the series on Blu-ray.
That's a good idea. I'm thinking of starting to collect the tangible media. It's overwhelming to think of because there's so much, but it would preserve it and I could leave this awesome collection to my nephew. Damn Paramount!!
Well we pretty much have most of the Star Trek series and the films we just don't have Voyager, the original animated series, Discovery, Picard, and Strange New Worlds.
There are more people that disagree with this than those who do. Is anyone looking at the data?Oh and I don't know...use their platform to educate people on what DEI actually is.
@paramountpictures.bsky.social @paramountplusbr.bsky.social I was going to get a subscription today to watch survivor but now I'm watching this page to see what you do before giving you any $$.
Yo, @paramountpictures.bsky.social. Are you a bunch of weak, spineless losers? Or are you going to stand up for your people? Because THE people, whom pay you, are paying attention, and we’ll remember. It’d behoove YOU AS A COMPANY to remember that.
Oh Paramount....don't you do it....or, else, you know who'll fuck with you?
Well, at least, me.....However, if you abandon your DEI principles, You will lose entire markets.
DEI rewards openness, justice, and fairness of opportunity to all.
@paramountpictures.bsky.social posted about Black History Month less than a month ago. At least companies are now being transparent about their hypocrisy so I know who to stay away from. Subscription cancelled.
