There are other proofs that he was there at the time of the crimes. But DNA was the strongest because it puts him in the room because it was from the stealth found under one victims body.
Then what was his DNA doing there? Why was he stalking them? The old he looks nice thing still? You know who the said the same thing about? Bundy, Gacy, Dahmer…
“In a memo, according to the testimony, the F.B.I. acknowledged turning to MyHeritage and a broader version of GEDmatch that includes people who have not opted in to law enforcement searches.”
Incorrect. Police can access anything with a warrant or most times, without. Companies just comply. This happens all the time. There are many many articles about it.
“Steve Kramer, a former F.B.I. lawyer who has specialized in genetic genealogy investigations, said the rules were designed as a framework, not a legal limitation.”

LOL…”a framework not a legal limitation.”
In other words, they’ll follow the rule until it’s inconvenient.
So the investigation violated a policy but did not violate any laws, and we all know from Trump’s control of the Justice Department that policy violations are kinda the new policy.
Judges, maybe the Supreme Court ruled, the DNA you leave in the public domain, is no longer your property...it can be confiscated and used for research, etc...even cloned...

No consent given.
But, rape kits sit for decades as statutes come and pass.
