Personally, it's because I know that even if there has been a big uptick in plane crashes, flying is still statistically pretty safe. Safer than driving, at least.
Yes you’re totally right, but when you consider the blatant disregard for safety during the last two months, and how many crashes have happened already I would not get on a plane unless strictly necessary. I literally have cancelled our summer vacation for this reason.
I don't doubt it, however, the DC crash, with 67 fatalities, is the only crash to have killed more than 10 people since 2009. That one incident is doing some heavy lifting in that figure.
But, considering that, per FAA figures, there are an average of 45k commercial flights carrying 2.9 million
passengers per day, the odds of being killed in a plane crash are still incredibly slim. Particulatly compared to the 40,000+ traffic fatalities per year the US now sees.
Truly I understand what you are saying. But when I am faced with risking the life of my children under an administration who does not show proper leadership in safety, I choose not to take the risk. Especially considering it is not necessary.
As they used to say on the Johnny Carson Show: “More to Come”.
There are going to be a ton more of these with the Jackass-In-Chief and his lowlife Nazi buddy running things.
They couldn’t run a damn ant farm.
My God Another plane crash! This should show how much we need airline Traffic controllers It's a very stressful job and thanks to the Trump administration we don't have enough of them How many people need to die before Trump administration gets the idea
Reading the article this was a Beachcraft Bonanza. A friend who is a small plane pilot told me that he and his dad once looked at the Bonanza and backed away.. They are notoriously difficult to maintain. Without proper maintenance they are more deadly than your typical small aircraft..
These are small, single engine aircraft that have a V tail. So instead of a rudder and separate elevators, the Bonanza has a ruddervator. This makes for a faster airplane, but if not properly maintained and balanced can make controlling the aircraft more difficult.
Not all of the Bonanza have a v-tail and there a Twin (engine) Bonanzas too. On the picture in the article you see that it is a model without the v-tail.
Who is flying these plane ? They are dropping from the sky like a dead bird. This never happen in four years of Joe Biden. Now they have the gardner flying plane after Elon Musk get rid of the FAA. This is a deaster. Trump is in mental decline someone of to keep on eye on him he is senile.
It's worse than that! The mechanic that last worked on the plane supposedly looked a lot like Barack Obama. And drove off with an older blonde lady who bore a suspicious familiarity to Hillary Clinton.
I'm in Scotland and with all these crashes why are planes from the US not banned from flying into the rest of the World golden age of America don't make me laugh only in the U S could a certifiable half wit be elected twice Corruption probably

it's really a miracle. the guy landed the plane that well. if we had had Teenage Mutants Ninja MIT air traffic controllers working this situation could never have happened
safest country in the world to fly, bar none. Just because you became aware of something doesn't mean its alarming. The vast majority of these accidents are recreational pilots in small planes.
According to the IATA report (2/28/2025) In 2023, there were no fatal accidents involving large commercial aircraft globally, marking an unprecedented safety milestone for the industry. However, one fatal accident occurred involving a turboprop aircraft, resulting in 72 fatalities.
According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), there were 30 total flight accidents in 2023, marking a significant decrease and only one fatal accident. 2023 was actually considered one of the safest years for flying. Where are you getting 1200 accidents from?
No. Stop falling victim to recency bias and learn the factual data. Listen. I'm as concerned about the DOGE bullshit as much as anyone, they can jump off a cliff. But anything air related, so far, has *nothing* to do with them. Humans make errors.
Exactly. The scale of death and destruction we've seen thus far is not normal. Thank you for sharing information that shows that the slaughter of Americans flying commercial overseen by the GOP is aberrational. We deserve safety when we fly and they have questions to answer here. I'm glad you agree

Correct. But lets be factual and not spiral by using misinformation to make our points. Fact is, theres a fatal general aviation crash near daily and has been for a long while.
Please tell me how DOGE cuts led to a weekend pilot crashing his personal airplane? And please tell me how thats happened 1000-1200 times a year for the last several years? I hate them as much as anyone, but were no better than then when we lock onto lies to advance a narrative. Do better. Educate.
They're cutting air traffic controllers when they're having trouble keeping planes in the air. This indiscriminate cost-cutting is going to kill a lot of people. For what???

No need to investigate
One Amish says to the other, "You're not supposed to have that."
The other Amish says, "The worst part is, it's going to take us the next 8 hours to build a barn over it."
