The Trump administration's move to deport Mahmoud Khalil, a permanent legal resident of the U.S., has set up a fight over free speech and raises questions about whether this could happen to other visa or green card holders. Here’s what to know.

I'm quite surprised. Last month Vance was accusing us in Europe from not respecting free speech. Our laws prohibit hate speech especially linked to the nazis terminology. And as I see these free speech warriors are not respecting rightr to protest against genocide.
Because Israel doesn't like him and - in case you haven't noticed - Israel controls both our foreign and domestic policy by bribing politicians on both sides of the aisle.
Well, when one person is actually anti-somatic like Elon Musk or some of the people in Trump’s administration I mean it’s undeniable. There is no comparable reference to that you went from. He is a antisemite to both parties have antisemites
Just a side thought: how the f**k dies the Israeli government manage to ignore the fact that t-rump admires hitler and that Elon the Naziboy is a Naziboy? Beyond me!
“Material support for immigration purposes is much broader than the criminal definition of the term. For example, people have been deported for simply providing a cup of water or bowl of rice to guerrilla groups, even under duress.”
What I can remember from restrictions for legal residency was if the person is convicted of committing crimes against the United States then they would be denied citizenship. Freedom of Speech against US policy is not part of that criteria.
Not sure the deportation crew understands the amount of time and money it will cost to defend their actions in court to keep them from prison. Denying free speech is criminal
My husband is a naturalized US citizen. He probably knows this country’s history and tenets better than most US born citizens. He’s never been arrested, not so much as a moving violation and I’m frightened. I feel like I’ve been relocated to be a communist country. #resist
That's definitely part of the irony here is that the "America First" crowd are the least informed in civics, U.S. history, and constitutional law of any population group.
I’m 62 years old. I’ve voted in every election since I turned 18. To be informed and participatory was not an option growing up. Our civic duty was imparted on us with the heaviness and responsibilities WW II children and a Korean War veteran(Dad) as a standard I take seriously , as one should.
You are right. Whatever the political and economic system in place in the country, every citizen must have freedom, equality and security of citizenship.
The fascists never left. They are still there in our capitalist system, they are bosses of big industries, they are on the stock exchange, they play with the lives of the "little people."
