It's no coincidence that the far right neo nazi political party in Germany were called the Republicans. Seems to me that taking over universities and deciding what studies and books would be discarded was one of the first things the nazis did.

This is terrifying. My great grandparents, grandfather & his brothers survived the 1890s Hamidian Massacres in Harput , then fled to America. The genocide tragically resumed in 1915. Prior to the Massacres, the Sultan cracked down HARD on education/schools/teachers — knowledge fostered rebellion.

This is the university that brought my grandfather to the US in the aftermath of WWII. It's where my grandparents met, and where my grandmother met my grandfather-in-law (her first fiancé whom she parted with at the time but married later after my grandfather died). This is tragic.
