Hey everyone. I’m exploring moving off Twitter so I’m checking out this platform a lot more. Say hi, lemme know what you think of this place, and maybe repost this to let your friends know I’m here. Thanks!

Welcome, David. Bluesky is a much more self-curated site. Taking the time to follow people using Lists and Starter Packs is how to get the most out of it.
I am very happy with bluesky.
I see other communities making “starter packs” that really help find like minded people, but I haven’t seen many starter packs around journalism and progressive activism. If you find any, let us know!
Do it. Coming here is like being in the world we had hoped for and the old place is the stupid cesspool of chaos and hate we’re going to get. Leaving it behind has been mentally freeing. I don’t miss it at all and I’m actively recruiting my clients to make the switch.
I'm new to Bluesky. I've only been here two days. I think the platform needs help building its entertainment-focused segment. Perhaps you can help those of us in the app with this interest?
It’s still a work in progress, it seems, and just bc people open accounts doesn’t mean they’ll post consistently (Threads comes to mind) - but there’s def momentum. I’m not deleting X yet, but spending more time here.
Hi David, lots of good tools here to give control of the experience to the user & community w/out the anarchy of Mastadon, but takes some digging to master. The last month has created the critical mass needed. The only caution is it can all still be manipulated & we should be cautious of ownership.
So far many of the posts are duplicated on X and here. The interface is a bit more clunky, but I suspect that will improve…it has the potential to replace X for most of us tired of the weaponized algorithm on X to push disinformation 24/7
Feels much more like early Facebook and Twitter, where people just want to connect over common interests and share day-to-day thoughts and activities. Very wholesome at the moment!
I’m personally trying to grapple between wanting a space as a just described above, but I also very stonefly want a similar active space to discuss news, politics, and international issues. The coverage of Gaza on here is concerning so far. At the same time…
Ticks most of the boxes for me and doesn't give me that unbearable dread I get when scrolling the Muskhole. Obviously needs more users but seems to be gaining traction
Still heavily invested in Twitter just because it is still so heavily saturated with people I trust doing news but you hopping over here is a good start.
It's great! I started migrating over last Thursday. Most of the folks that I followed are already here, with the same/better content. I think you'll love it.
Hi David. Big fan. I’m new here. Going to stick around Twitter for a while too, though I’m encouraged I’m seeing more like minded folks on this platform.

Hope it's fixed.
So far, BlueSky seems good, and good accounts keep reporting boosts in follows + engagement over Xitter.
