Yeah. My point is the Gripen isn't really an option here unless they can source an engine from somewhere else. I think the Dassault Rafale-M could be a good choice.

Imagine being trained on a certain modell in a foreign country in order to later defend your country that is currently attacked. To make things worse, said modell is being withheld by a third power for the time being. I wonder what the pilots go through emotionally, how they cope with the situation.

It's clear enough? Denmark and Netherlands were more in favor of sending F-16s rather than sending Gripens. Including Netherland's Defense Minister explicitly said that on public record.

To be clear, there are plenty of criticisms I have for the Biden administration handling Ukraine aid.

I don't see how this is one of them without more evidence. This seems more like EU coalition agreeing on more effective allocation of resources, pilots aren't free.
