NEW: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov claimed on February 22 that US and Russian officials are planning to meet within the next two weeks in an unspecified third country about bilateral relations. 🧵(1/4) Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, February 22, 2025: isw.pub/UkrWar022225

A loan???? We are using the income from seized russian assets, mostly companies, to pay back that "loan".

Russian fascists have now been torturing and raping Ukrainian women for years. Good job by the cowards of the West. www.telegraph.co.uk/global-healt...

The United States appears to be in violation of the Budapest Memorandum which disarmed Ukraine of nuclear weapons in exchange for security guarantees. The agreement signed by the US in 1994 specifically prohibits economic coercion against Ukraine.

Gotland, permanent carrier of Baltic Sea, is connected to mainland Sweden by 2 power cables and 4 comms cables, all but one in same area. This area is seeing heavy surveillance by Swedish Coast Guard last month. And, yesterday a St Petersburg origin ship showed very suspicious speed anomalies here

Russia: Propaganda inadvertently exposed scale of casualties. 252 soldiers from Stary Oskol killed in Ukraine, compared to 11 killed in Afghanistan. Total Russian KIA in Afghanistan: 15,000 Equates to around 350,000 Russian soldiers killed in the invasion of Ukraine so far.

As it happens, Trump has gone so far off the cliff that Europe isn’t divided but closing ranks. I figured that it’ll become politically difficult for European politicians to try and suck up to him because electorates see what Trump is doing and are very angry. But it’s even better than expected:

I think the American's might soon be in for their own "South Sea bubble" moment. Trump's economic policies are self-destructive. And don't forget that he and his cohort from Musk to RFK are all conmen and frauds.

We Europeans must be careful not to get caught up in Trump's storyline and process. We must remain in control of the agenda—which means rejecting his. Let's not repeat his tale of “peace talks,” because that's already giving in to Putin. Let's have instead a narrative of victory—Ukraine's and ours.

Year 3 of the invasion, monitoring channels still gotta post “guys please don’t stand near windows cause you want to watch the air defense work”

What a giant pile of stinking shit this is.

We have to focus on Ukraine for now. But after that, if the U.S returns to a realist foreign policy, then we must think of ourselves and Europe in terms of geopolitical players to avoid becoming an American poker chip. We will have to seek allies and partners outside of Europe.

Hope you enjoy the rest of this century. If MAGA really revives realism then get ready for a return of the 1950s to 1970s in U.S foreign policy. Clandestine coups by intelligence services to impose puppet regimes from South America to South East Asia. Let's just repeat what failed, apparently.

The preferable grand strategy for this century would be to integrate and welcome Latin America into the West, while expanding the Atlantic alliance into the Pacific by inviting South Korea, Australia, and Japan to join. Not this... reviving of the realist zombie.

It's been almost 50 years since the "realist" golden boy Henry Kissinger decided that the West must normalise relations with China to ally with it against the Soviet Union. All we got in the end was a Chinese superpower. And now we are supposed to do the damn reverse?

God, this ridiculous "realist" idea. Trump Larping as Kissinger now?

🇨🇿🇺🇦“I just spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. I assured him that he has our full support. We know very well and will not forget who is the victim and who is the aggressor in this war.

Opinion: "Ireland’s neutrality is widely regarded as absurd and complacent - It is imperative that we declare unequivocally our support for united EU action to defend European democracy against Russia", writes Stephen Collins at @irishtimes.com www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2025...

Ukraine Fact Sheet - February 21, 2025: isw.pub/UkraineFacts...

Tusk calls on EU to confiscate Russia's frozen assets to provide Ukraine with financial assistance Under the sanctions, the EU has frozen €210 billion in assets of the Russian Central Bank, most of which are held in Belgium.

This is what makes me the most proud in our times of Résistance. This is the badge I made for the Bolivar Battalion in Ukraine. 🇺🇦🤝🇻🇪 The only official account is in twitter (X) though: @esResistencia

One way or another, many EU countries will get under non-US nuclear umbrella. I bet Russia will be "thrilled" at the idea of countries like Poland getting their own nukes...

31 days after: An Imperial Mess

Despite all the shit that is happening around, Ukrainian soldiers/medics make extraordinary things! A drone delivered blood directly to an injured soldier in the trench. He survived and was evacuated! Please continue supporting Ukrainian defenders! They deserve it🙏 #donateToUkraine #NAFO

I hope you all realize that after cold war, We got shafted By Americans. We are on our own now, in Europe.

Charles De Gaul got the last laugh from his grave.

France is the only Nato member that can't be pushed around by the U.S. The French never bought American weapons. They produce their own. Much of what happens in the coming months will depend on the French. So you better hope they have the courage to do the right thing.

Again. France should change its nuclear doctrine. Permit other countries to be protected under the French nuclear umbrella. And deploy a squadron of Rafale with some of it's TNA (airborne nuclear missiles) to Poland.

Europe targets homegrown nuclear deterrent as Trump sides with Putin

Would you be ok with the idea that countries representing half of Europe's population could together veto an E.U policy?

I talked to all of my Ukraine bros today. They think Trump is a dumb fucking chimpanzee and said they’re gonna keep killing em regardless. I’m so fucking hype I’m gonna watch Lincoln tonight.

Over the past 24 hours, russian forces have attacked Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast nine times, using aerial bombs, MLRS, artillery, and drones. These attacks have killed five civilians. EVERY DAY OF INACTION COSTS LIVES. STOP RUSSIA NOW!

Visegrad was founded by Vaclav Havel after the death of communism. Its aim is to politically bind Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, & Hungary together in pursuing common goals and cooperation. It's why they joined Nato and the E.U together. Why transportation & electric infrastructure are managed together.

The Visegrad group is actually one of the most successful inner-European policy institutions of the last decades. I would love if other European countries could get together and do the same.

Now is not the time to be timid. The ground Trump stands on is shaky at best. Bowing and hoping for crumbs will embolden him to sell us out even harder. Europe must say no. And keep backing Ukraine.

The deep Polish investment into an alliance with the U.S may now backfire.

"Betrayed. First Zelensky, and soon us? The radical rejection of the US by its allies" – today's cover of the German Der Spiegel

Some think the pragmatic thing to do right now is for Ukraine to agree to whatever deal Trump-Russia work out just so the war stops. This is wishful thinking, ignorance, or malice. Stopping the war is not on offer! Ru wants to take all of Ukraine and all it’s offering now is…

It's weird seeing Mearsheimer now paraded around various right-wing podcasts to sing songs about how he was always right. Generally, it's gross seeing the pro-russian far-right and fer-left claim they were "always right". No you weren't. You voted for this. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This story is probably going to lead to a lot of confusion… I’ve had to walk several very knowledgeable people through this… Let me see if I can hit the high points www.moscowtimes.ru/2025/02/21/i...

You know, J.D. Vance wasn't there to inform the defenders of Kyiv in 2022 that Ukraine couldn’t win, so they fought bravely and fiercely and eventually defeated the Russian onslaught to take the Ukrainan capital, thus totally derailing Putin's blitzkrieg.

Musk is now attacking Zelensky and Ukraine on a Dugin video that he seems to fully agree with. There seems to be no limit to how low he can go

NEW: @financialtimes.com published an investigation on Feb. 20 supporting ISW's long-held assessment that Russian military commanders are either complicit in or directly enabling subordinates to execute Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) in clear violation of international law. isw.pub/UkrWar022025
