If Apple are short on bonus material for a SDE Rubber Soul box set, an album of all vocals like this would be cool. I really loved some of the isolated vocals on the recent Beach Boys sets.
That’s pretty amazing, wasn’t sure if that was Paul harmonizing on the lead vocal or John double tracking. I guess it is Paul, just not as distinctively different as on some other songs. imho. Very nice.
They should do a Complete Beatles Archive streaming subscription service. Every take, every tape track, every session, every live concert all available to stream. It would be a MASSIVE hit.
Agreed. These new isolations I’m doing show the possibilities, and the response on Instagram has been insane. There’s a large audience for this stuff. And the world needs to know: the Beatles could *sing*
And of course, 2 things help them nail the ending. Paul's high harmony is the obvious one -- but underrated is the rhythmic change with "nobody" landing solidly ON the beat with a slightly quicker rhythm at the same instant. Rhythmic tension resolved at the perfect moment.
LOVE the background bridge vocals. 2 bar phrases, legato Aahh, marc., staccato "la" for a breath on 8th beat of each, but carrying over into the guitar solo with a crescendo and staccato downbeat with the guitar entry. I think mostly accidental genius.
