Yes - and I am glad they are working on amending MAiD to address this issue. I for one have zero desire to have end stage dementia and be left languishing in a dodgy assisted living situation with my family left to make the agonizing decision for me.

100% I have a form of MD - I may end up starving to death, dying via aspiration pneumonia by aspiration. If & when it get that bad I’ll use MAID to ensure no one watches me go the hard way.

Yes. My family has HD and I have watched as healthcare professionals unable to manage the suffering that comes with advancement of this disease. I’ve lost grandparents, uncles, parent and now siblings. There is no cure. Death is inevitable. What is MAID for other than these types of suffering?

Yes. I've seen what Alzheimer's does to some people. It's a very cruel disease for the patient and their loved ones. They should be offered the option if they wish to die with dignity.

Not Canadian, but I've made my views clear to my family.
If I mentally or physically deteriorate beyond the point where I am unable to lead a fulfilling life, and beyond the point of ending things myself, I hope for those close to me to help facilitate my exit by my own hands.

I filled out the survey but the truth about this survey is that until there is a mechanism for controlling the accuracy of the respondents then it will prove to be quite useless. There's nothing in the survey which would highlight the religious far/right/crazies and their views unless volunteered.

Yes, they should! I've worked in a care home, helping people with dementia and other illnesses. I've had a stroke survivor and a resident with Multiple Sclerosis, both who I had to spoon feed, tell me they wanted to die.

As someone with an existing disease that will likely end in dementia I absolutely want the right to advance MAID. I don't want to be spoon fed, have my diaper changed or any of the other indignities that come with the disease.
