Although it has come some way, it still has some Brit classical liberal elements in its support of free markets/individual rights. However, its perspective tends to align more closely with neoliberal economic/political positions. It has supported some regs of financial markets, mainly post GFC(2008)

Musk embodies some aspects of classical liberalism, particularly those related to markets and property rights. However, he's perhaps better understood as a technocratic capitalist who adopts or discards liberal principles based on HIS immediate goals, which is at odds with the paper's ed stance.

The FT's issue with Musk isn't his business goals but his methods - they see his erratic, personality-driven approach as undermining the stable, rule-based markets that classical liberalism requires like most of us do, now that we have to see it 24/7.
