NEW: People are being involuntarily committed to psychiatric care facilities — and even ending up arrested or jailed — after becoming fixated on ChatGPT and other chatbots and spiraling into psychosis. futurism.com/commitment-j...

Agree.

An excellent description of political orders generally, tbh.

This is true of a lot of matters of fine-grained technical expertise. Details are crucial, yes; but you can miss the forest for the trees.

I love the @cpsc.gov's annual fireworks safety video. I look forward to it every year.

On this day in 2018, Anthony Kennedy announced he would retire from the US Supreme Court.

Today on Volts: food & agriculture are responsible for about a third of greenhouse gas emissions, but they get only a tiny sliver of the attention & funding. I talk with journalist @mikegrunwald.bsky.social about what he's discovered in 5 years of intensive research (& a new book) on the subject.

This was such a rich and deep convo we couldn’t quite get to audience Q&A! Check it out!

Mira Nair doing the classic desi mother cheek-pull right on camera as her kid is on stage after a political victory.

This one is for Mira Nair. www.youtube.com/watch?v=70_Z...

Folks who understand NYC politics - how might Cuomo or someone else build a coalition against the democratic candidate in the general election? Is it a pipe dream or a real possibility?

crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their consultants

Hey you’ll never believe this, but the thing that everyone who knew anything about this said over the last dozen years would happen if you bombed the Iranian nuclear facilities happened
