I would argue that information literacy is actually worse for older age groups, in part b/c they've been socialized to see anything printed in newspaper-like fonts, or presented in an authoritative newscaster voice, as 'legitimate.'

I remember a college classmate of my sister's worked for him after graduation, and he was just as unresponsive to, and dismissive of, younger constituents then. He has been ineffective for a while.
