If we were in the previous legal environment, and I am under 30, w/ limited work/educational history... I'd take his name.

Same scenario but, over 30, strong work/educational history...I'd hyphenate w/ my name first.

But, in this current legal environment... keeping my name!

They would smush em together like couple names (i.e Bradgelina lol). So "Williams" and "Jefferson" would be "Wilson."

That method doesn't work for everyone though lol

My husband and I are each other’s second marriages. He and his first wife combined their names to create a new name, and my first husband and I hyphenated ours with my last name first. We just kept our original last names for our second marriages because it’s a pain changing that shit back. 🤷🏽

I’ll take his name but it’s mostly because I want to share the same name as my future children. I do want to use my maiden name as either a first or middle name for one of my future kids though

Kept my name. We were going to hyphenate, then discovered how much harder it is for men to legally change their names in California (vs. women). No name changes, because I wasn’t doing it unilaterally.

We hyphenated the kids’ names.

I’m taking his name. My legal last name is already both of my parents names hyphenated, both names are 8 and 9 letters long. I could never write my full signature on a line. I’m making life easier for me 😂

I just added his last name after mine. No hyphen, & not changed. So I write my name & add a space & then add his last name to it. That was the simplest way for me.

I still had to change it on my social security, driver’s license, etc. Since a name was added. Kind of like when you have a middle name.
