CBP is detaining german tourist for over 1 mo because they accused her of intending to tattoo for $$ while in US. In jailing her to deport, they held her in solitary for 9 days, also kept her from her return flight Feb 15. She's still jailed.

My dad is too old to travel, and my mom can’t leave him for very long anymore. We’re going for the holidays, already making a mental note that my partner maybe shouldn’t bring a laptop. Being a mixed nationality family is terrifying. We’re in danger here, he’s in danger there, nowhere is safe.

Thank you! It’s so scary in both of my countries! The entire discourse in Sweden is about immigrants, including stripping naturalized citizenships more easily. But then I’ve also been terrified for my very elderly parents, who live on SS in an overpriced investor flip rental.

Yesterday, Josephine found out grandma and grandpa are “old” and since she’s in her “trying to figure out what death means” phase, she clocked that it means something and got really upset. We need to renew her passport and I’m worried about that, too. Embassy currently still staffed, at least.
