My question/concern is whether Bluesky has high enough uptake in Oz for the general ease of climate news here to have much impact on #auspol

I compared 22 identical climate-related posts on Threads vs Bluesky over the last 3 months, and the difference is shocking.

Normalized engagement on Threads dropped nearly 2/3 + my following dropped, while Bluesky engagement held steady + following quadrupled.

What's the evidence that Katherine Hayhoe believes in this technological approach? She lives in Texas, but identifies as Canadian. She's had a run in with Newt Gingrich, and you can tell a lot about a person from the quality of their enemies. I'm an atheist, but welcome climate change Christians.

And I really agree with the article you've pointed to - yes, population is a problem as are impacts, and Effective Altruism is blind to power issues and injustices around the world & OWID to the positive history of activism and Government intervention. But I don't see the connection to Ms. Kayhoe.

It does, because she endorses them + their cohorts with her climate starter packs. The whole "we have the solutions" - we've had them for over 20 years, but the issue is, *we aren't using them* which is not being addressed.
Prejudice and hypocrisy? I'm being blunt and truthful.
Shame she can't too.

Not sure about your question, but for sure I've annoyed at the incessant invitations FB gave me connect with new people and groups. Depends on whether you're trying to "broadcast" or connect with people you know & have common interests. Regardless, FB & other platforms will try to silo you, yes.

I think it’s getting there. I was surprised at the numbers chatting about cricket last week - it’s not at old Twitter levels, but much more uptake than even a month ago. Threads is dying - I’m about to delete it as it is hopeless in real time discussions and with no fact checking a waste of time
