I can't tell if it's a new thing or I'm just noticing it, but that blue rotating Meta AI circle thing that follows you around Instagram is creepy as hell. Not sure why you'd design something that actively reminds people they're being tracked.

It’s shocking how bad the Instagram UX is overall. Meta claims to hire “10xers, but they consistently create the shittiest user experiences on the planet. They’re good at ads, though, which I guess is the point.
I haven’t been on Meta platforms since the summer, but haven’t deleted them yet. I belong to several close groups that really need a space to keep those connections. I don’t know what platform exists as an alternative for those groups. Suggestions?
it's just hard to get everyone to pivot. Discord could be useful, but I keep it for similar reasons because not everyone has the same comfort with migrating constantly. I do keep the apps off my phone though.
I’ve thought about Discord. My teenager has one group through Discord but he said it hasn’t stayed very active. We’ve had these conversations in the groups in the past, and I’m sure they’re happening now, but based off of texting with friends still on FB nothing has been decided.
Deleting X meant that I miss out on information from local emergency services, which living in the fire zone of LA County means that I have to wait for Watch Duty to update status of fires. We were on the edge of the first round of evacuations for the Lidia fire.
