All good! I feel both X-2 and XIII-2 are underrated and the discourse around both really should be ignored so the games can speak for themselves to the player. X-2’s battle system is fantastic, despite being so different from X. XIII-2 further refined XIII’s battle system, especially pacing.

I enjoyed it. Story was a bit messy, but I've seen significantly worse and the battle mechanics were massively improved over XIII-1. I'm also just generally into time travel, paradoxes, and alternate timelines.

Though I wish it expanded more on "changing the future changes the past". It's a neat idea i don't usually see in time travel stories, but they did not explain and explore it that well so I think it ended up flying over most people's heads.

In case anyone's curious a brief explanation of the concept. XIII's timeline is partially self-correcting. If you cause a certain paradox in the future that is impossible because of past events, the past will then change to make this paradox possible.

I haven’t actually played beyond the first game just know some general things about the next two but I think other ways FFXIII strikes me as just so P3 coded is like the AI combat where you’re a “leader” but don’t have direct control I really love any games that put that time into AI allies
