The only thing minors get put on is blockers when the time comes which have been proven over and over to be effective, safe, and reversible and will not leave a person sterile should they choose to undergo their original puberty. Conservatives try to say its unproven, but the EU recently reaffirmed.

Social transitioning for children is part of transitioning. Not enough people get that children have autonomy too, and deserve basic dignity.

Child autonomy is the same argument that other unnamed fringe groups use, but those groups are even more universally persecuted than trans. It's a shame to focus on hate in every case.

I just straight up can't talk about this with my family because Facebook has "informed" them that kids are getting full on invasive surgeries.

Trying to get through to my mom, who is pretty open-minded, that it's not happening is like pulling teeth.

I had a lengthy debate with a transphobic friend of mine about this exact topic. I showed him stats. Turns out over a 7 year period there were ZERO gender-affirming surgeries on minors in the quoted studies. And regret rates for cosmetic boob jobs are an order of magnitude higher than trans ones. 🤔
