Happy to see the “10am Film Festival” is still going in its 14th year. I was here for the first few. They play a classic film at 10 every morning for a week for a discounted rate at participating cinemas across Japan. This season’s got some western classics, Ozu’s Munekata Sisters and much more.

It’s a great way to allow younger cinephiles the chance to see some classics from before their time on the big screen. I believe there was also a way to vote for the next season’s films too.

Yeah it’s a great programme, we could do with something similar in Ireland. The first few years I think I got to most I hadn’t seen too, but, generally being a night owl, accidentally dropping off in a few of them! 😅
