Is the joke of Curb Your Enthusiasm that Larry is always wrong? Because sometimes I think he's completely right. I need a focus group to discuss every single issue with me and decide whether he's the asshole.

I think it's more complex than that- he is often wrong, but with absolute conviction, which is its own kind of admirable; but even when he is right, which he often is, he is right in the wrong way. He acts like the universe is against him, but most of his troubles are entirely his own fault.
It's a flipped version of the story of a Righteous Man, a guy who stands up to the injustice of the world and puts his foot down - because he does it most firmly when it doesn't matter, and creates problems to rail against by being needlessly furious and confrontational in situations of no import.
He is always definitely the butt of the (his own) joke- his attitude detracts from when he IS right, because he is the guy who is nearly always wrong, or could've avoided the problem entirely by just being more conciliatory or easy going.
