If I recall correctly, people had no problem paying more than that for a Steam Deck just so they can emulate Switch 1 games on "superior" hardware. But hey by all means....

You are just thinking about yourself. This price margnilize most of the potential players outside the US/Europe/Japan. 70 dollars in brazil is 1/3 of the minimum wage. That price deemed at least half of the planet unable to play it without piracy.
y’know, i only see people complaining about Nintendo doing this, even though Playstation sells a new console without a single visual difference that people eat up the $250 jump from digital-only PS5 to digital-only PS5 pro compared to the $150 jump from base Switch 1 to base Switch 2
...it's 10 dollars more than the 60 dollar price point everyone was fine and dandy with on the Switch 1. Thinking that we could keep going generation after generation without any increase from that at all was a delusion.
Your complaints are with the entire gaming industry at this point.
It's not talked about enough how brutally impossible it is to afford Nintendo games in Brazil, especially since even in the used market they take years to drop in price.
Even PS5 games are more affordable because they actually drop in price.
